5 Real Updates I Would Like To See in a New Honda Accord.

What are some major changes you would like to see in a new Honda Accord? With all the new technology coming out in recent years these are the 5 updates I would like to see in the new Accord.

There are many things new with the 2018 Honda Accord and some of them are not welcomed by longtime loyal Accord fans. I would like to start off by saying I am not one of the people that is too worried about the loss of the V-6.

1. The new 2.0L 4 cylinder engine

With that being said, The first thing I would like to see out of the new Accord since the engine is taken straight out of the Honda Civic Type-R is to bring it up to the same specs. With both engines having the same displacement @ 1996 cc, and both being turbocharged it makes me wonder why the Accord seems to have been down tuned for the family sedan.

Honda Accord makes 252 HP @ 6,500 rpm using 20.8 psi of boost while the Civic Type-R makes 306 HP @ 6,500 rpm using 23.2 psi of boost. Whether it needs more boost or a slight ECU tuneup, it will be interesting to see what people will modify (as they always do) to squeeze more power out of the new 2.0L.

2. All-wheel-drive option

The second thing that I think would be nice is an all-wheel-drive option. With all the torque that the new Accord puts out with 273 foot-pounds @1.500 all the way through 4,000 RPMs, it seems a little too much for the front wheel drive car.

3. No longer be offering the 2 door coupe

The third thing I would like to see is the 2 door coupe come back. Honda will no longer be offering the 2 door coupe for the 2018 year and this I must say I am more than a little disappointed about. I've always liked 2 door coupes over there 4 door counterparts. hopefully, this will change in years to come.

4. App controlled features

The fourth thing I would like to see is more app controlled features like heated seats or remote start. The ability to lock or unlock your doors or warm your car up from the comfort of your home with a push of a button on one's smartphone would be a nice feature to have in my opinion.

5. All-electric version

The fifth and final thing I would like to see is the option for an all-electric version. With the advancements in battery technology and solar panels getting stronger, More flexible, And producing more efficient power. I think it would be nice with gas prices changing without warning to have a car that I would never need to be filled up or plugged in.

Tell me what you would like to see in a new Accord in the comments below. If you liked this article and think it may help your friends, consider sharing or tweeting it to your followers.

Honda Accord should have anew front end, new rear end, new nav system placement location, new wheel design. Honda should redesign the entire platform and base it off the 9th gen.

I just want a boost gauge on my 6spd 2.0t Accord. My 2018 2.0t 6spd accord has no sport button like the others so I have no way to pull up the boost gauge on the touch screen. I work at a Honda dealer as a tech and I cannot find how to do so. Apart from that it's a very nice fairly well built vehicle.

The engine can be boosted by hondata if you want to run high octane fuel, most won’t. The phone app does do remote start and lock and unlock the doors, schedule service appointments. If the 2 door had any sales volume they would still build it. Toss the electric motors on the back wheels, theres your 4x4 and electric combined, just let me pick, either or both. Give me a package that includes adaptive cruise, and leather cooled seats with out buying the touring, FYI i did buy the touring. I don’t need paddle shifters, a mirror to run my garage doors, the clicker works just fine, a sunroof, replace that with a solar fan to vent the car at 90 degrees, i live in Houston. Adaptive shocks, no clue if they really do any thing but cost lots of money to replace. Replace those 19 inch wheels with something thats rides better. Auto up down on the front windows only, really, my 2009 jetta had that with remote in both directions. It cost $18600 new. FYI i got the 2.0 motor, so no rubber band trans for me. The remote start the runs the air conditioner is fantastic. Give me way more than 15 secs on the lane keeping.
