RAV4 Hybrid Was Toyota’s Best-Selling Hybrid in First Half 2023. You May Not Believe Second Place

Wait until you see the Top 5 best selling Toyota hybrids for the first half of 2023.

Toyota just released its sales numbers for both June and the first half of 2023. It was a strong first half for many popular hybrid-powered models.

But what model found the most new homes?

2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

It may be the least kept secret in the Toyota world, but RAV4 Hybrid sold the most units of all Toyota hybrids for the first half of 2023. Over 57,000 people (January to June) have a new 2023 RAV4 Hybrid sitting in their driveways.

And it is completely expected, as RAV4 is the top selling SUV in the entire country. With the hybrid getting 219 total horsepower and averaging 40 miles per gallon, it makes total sense to me why Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is so popular with buyers.

2023 Highlander Hybrid Review

Coming in second place for the first six months was Highlander Hybrid with 33,422 units sold.

My wife has a 2023 Highlander Hybrid Platinum, and she absolutely loves it (I love it too). Imagine driving a midsize SUV that is so smooth and quiet and comfortable. Plus, averaging 36 miles per gallon. Actually, she is a good and efficient driver, and she has been achieving over 38mpg lately.

Nothing better than getting more than posted gas mileage estimates. Good job Holly.

  4. Corolla Hybrid –        23,101
  5. Tundra Hybrid –        14,280
  6. Venza Hybrid –          13,077
  7. Prius Hybrid –           12,275
  8. Camry Hybrid –        12,207

  11. Crown Hybrid –          6,155

What About 2023 Camry Hybrid?

I was a little surprised to see Camry Hybrid sitting all the way down in 8th place. One reason might be due to less inventory available. Camry Hybrids are hard to find these days but seem to sell as quickly as they arrive at dealership lots.

It would also make sense that if there were more hybrid Toyota vehicles available for buyers, there would be a lot more sold across the entire lineup. This is the most depressing and frustrating part about a worldwide vehicle shortage.

I hope it ends soon.

How could the RAV4 make any list of great Toyota cars. The infotainment/radio is CRAP. If you want a brand new car without a working radio/navigation screen the RAV4 is perfect. Otherwise pass hard asf on this vehicle because that’s what you’re gonna get.

I own a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid and I am baffled at your comments. Why would you even think about a navigation system when you can use Android Auto/Google Maps, or use the Toyota cloud version navigation? The infotainment system is extremely easy to use and provides all the "bells & whistles" one needs.
