Ford has been showing off the new Shelby GT350 Mustang in a series of videos and those videos included sound clips of the 5.2L V8 while it was being exercised on the track, but those sounds had been captured from a camera as the car roared past. This video shows the new GT350 at the Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show in Gardena, California, and the man behind the camera was smart enough to request that the driver revs the engine a few times.
Update: The original video was removed due to some copyright issue. We have added the same video broken into four shorter videos.
The Magnetic Shelby GT350
The Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang shown in the video below is sporting a Magnetic exterior paint job with bright blue twin racing stripes – a combination that might just be my favorite thus far.
When the video first begins, we get to hear the Shelby GT350 Mustang roar to life and come to a mean sounding idle. The driver revs the engine a few times and it sounds pretty sweet – just raspy enough to catch your attention in traffic. The guy behind the camera then asks if the driver will rev the flat plane V8 a little higher – and he does. Rather than the short, quick revs, the driver eases up into the higher RPM range a few times before pulling away from the cameraman and out of the garage.
We get to hear some more brief sound clips as the drive of the new Shelby Mustang positions it behind the trailer, just in time for our cameraman to catch up. Then, right before the video ends, the driver gives it one hard rev followed by one very high rpm rip which really lets us hear the angry voice of the flat plane V8. In short, it sounds absolutely incredible.
