Canada Announces a “New” Limited Edition Subaru BRZ Inazuma; Are they Getting U.S. Left-Overs?

A “new” 2017 Subaru BRZ is headed to Canada and it will be a limited-volume edition. It’s called the Inazuma Edition and this limited edition sports coupe gets its name from the Japanese word for lightning. Is Canada getting U.S. left-overs?

This model looks identical to the US-spec 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow Special Edition that was launched this summer. Canada seems to be the step-child to the U.S. market and will get the same car with a different name attached to it.

Just like its U.S. counterpart, the “new” Canadian Subaru BRZ Inazuma Edition comes with SACHS performance dampers and Brembo brakes, both designed to improve handling and braking performance. It also features unique 17 x 7.5 lightweight aluminum black painted wheels. All Inazuma Edition’s come with an exclusive yellow exterior scheme with a bright yellow exterior finish, accented by yellow finishes in the interior.

Other exterior features include black side mirrors and black badging to set it apart. The interior is finished with Onyx black leather and Alcantara seats as well as yellow accent stitching throughout. The U.S. variant received embroidered front seatbacks with a yellow BRZ logo. It also featured carpeted floor mats with yellow stitching and a silver embroidered BRZ logo.

The 2017 BRZ Inazuma Edition is available for $32,695 (Canadian) and will be available in early 2017. Subaru says the quantities will be limited but did not specify the exact volume to be offered. Maybe they are what’s left-over from the U.S. 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow Special Edition?
