If you don’t like the traditional car dealer culture, the shopping experience is changing in a big way. You can now buy new Subaru Forester, Outback or Crosstrek at the shopping mall. They are called Pop Up stores and they are coming to retail centers in Australia. Subaru will expand the stores in major retail shopping centers around the country by the end of 2017. They tried the concept initially with two “Pop Up” stories and it’s working.
The first pop-up store, rolled out in the Pacific Werribee Shopping Center. Subaru also has a store in Northland Mall’s Subaru. The pop-ups are converting into a “full store” in the near future.
A new way to buy a Subaru
The pop-up stores introduce a new level of innovation to the way customers purchase Subaru cars and can serve the entire process as a full dealership would. Customers can browse, test drive, arrange financing and get their car appraised, all in a relaxing shopping environment.
Customer response to the stores has been overwhelmingly positive. They receive personal one-on-one service and it’s convenient. Subaru Australia’s Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: “Driven by the positive customer response and number of sales, more than 500 vehicles sold since its introduction, we are committed to offer this new kind of Subaru buying experience in other markets.”
If it works in Australia, it could be coming to North America. If you don’t like the traditional car dealer culture, the shopping experience is changing. You might be able to buy a new Subaru Forester, Outback or Crosstrek at the shopping mall.
