Subaru Motorsports released a 360 degree video looking through the roof of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI as it made a record run at Lake Superior Performance Rally. You can get a good view of David Higgins and Crag Drew as they push the STI at full speed on the rally course.
David Higgins won the event, achieving an undefeated season in the Rally America Championship which broke a 28 year-old record set by SRT USA team manager John Buffum. The upper peninsula of Michigan is where Subaru filmed the first peer-thru 360 degree video below. Watch as Higgins and Drew navigate the roads at LSPR.
The record-setting season will go down in the record books as perfect, and it took eight grueling rounds for Higgins and Drew to pull it off. Subaru is running a new car this year, the new 2015 Subaru WRX STI dubbed the VT15r and SRT USA did a masterful job getting the performance Subaru ready for every race on the Rally America Championship schedule.
Rob Weir, Subaru Motorsports Marketing Manager said, “This evolution of our 360 degree video capability puts the viewer even closer to the driver’s seat. We’re excited to debut this enhanced viewing ability. The playback from the 2015 Subaru WRX STI’s roof is amazing.”
