Take the 2017 Subaru Forester, Crosstrek and Legacy out on a surprise snow day and it can take you back to your childhood. That’s what Autoweek wanted to recreate in Crested Butte, Colorado where there’s lots of the white stuff to play in. They took five readers to their “snow day for grown-ups” in the ski town, to drive a Subaru.
Autoweek says, “We wanted to recapture the feeling of waking up to a surprise fun day off, of playing in the snow, with little care in the world.” Sounds like a pretty fun day for these five readers. The car magazine gave the drivers some instruction on slalom driving, transition steering, and quick braking, then they cut them loose on the snow.

They asked them to drive as quickly as they could drive without hitting the cones. Here’s what these five average everyday driver’s had to say about the Subaru Forester SUV, Forester XT, Crosstrek crossover and Legacy sedan. “ For all-weather capability, you can’t beat it. Another driver said, “The Symmetrical AWD in all ways is absolutely fantastic.” Another said, “At full throttle with the car, I was pretty surprised.” And, “You feel safe in it”.
