Elon Musk Highlights a Video of a Tesla Cybertruck Rescuing a Toyota Tacoma Stuck in Mud

After all the criticisms concerning the Cybertruck’s off-roading ability, Elon Musk has highlighted a new video where the Cybertruck rescues a stuck Toyota Tacoma from a muddy pit. In the video, you can also see the Cybertruck clear the course easily.

We’ve all seen the countless videos floating online showing a Cybertruck stuck in a slightly challenging terrain and having to be rescued by a gas truck.

Some people attribute this issue to the Cybertruck’s ineptness, whereas others point to the fact that many Cybertruck owners do not have off-roading experience, and the problem lies with the driver’s shortcomings.

Whatever the case, this has prompted Tesla to launch a feature where a Cybertruck tries to guess if a driver is stuck and offers suggestions on how to get unstuck.

This is good; however, Elon Musk has other ideas and recently highlighted a video of a Cybertruck not being rescued by a gas truck but rather doing the rescuing.

The video, posted on Facebook and then reshared on X, shows a Tesla Cybertruck pulling a stuck Toyota Tacoma out of a muddy pit.

In the first video, you can see the Cybertruck making easy work of this challenging off-roading situation. It goes into the muddy pit and emerges out the other end without much issue.

This on its own is a great advertisement for the Cybertruck; however, in the second video, the Cybertruck’s off-roading prowess becomes even more apparent.

As you can see, a lifted Toyota Tacoma with beefy off-road tires attempts the same course but ends up stuck in the mud. A Cybertruck then has to come to the rescue and pull the Toyota out of the pit.

According to the Cybertruck owner (Andrew Hodgdon), the only other vehicle that made it through this muddy hole unassisted was a lifted Jeep Wrangler on 37-inch tires.

Seeing this video, Elon Musk appears happy and commented by writing, “The Cybertruck is a beast.”

Looking at the comments below Musk’s post, people are divided regarding the Cybertruck’s off-roading prowess.

Some individuals were quick to crown the Cybertruck as the best off-roading vehicle. In contrast, others pointed out several instances where a stuck Cybertruck needed assistance from another internal combustion truck to break free.

Other more even-handed individuals wrote, “The Cybertruck is the best truck in the world. But I hate these clips insinuating that one truck is better because it rescues the other. All trucks can and do get stuck. And most are capable of coming to the rescue.”

Looking at the comments further, you can also see people invalidating this video, suggesting that the comparison is unfair because the Toyota Tacoma is a mid-sized truck, and the Cybertruck is a full-sized truck.

In the past, we have highlighted several videos showing a stuck Cybertruck being reduced by a Ford F-150 and Ford F-250 trucks.

Finally, other, more comically inclined people have suggested that the Cybertruck owner should be careful not to break his rear subframe while pulling out the Toyota Tacoma.

This is in relation to WhistlinDiesel’s videos showing the Cybertruck’s rear giga-casting breaking in half while attempting to pull a stuck Ford F-150.

Overall, it's nice to see the $100,000 Cybertruck performing in an off-road environment. However, if you have other ideas, let me know in the comments below.
