The Cybertruck’s shiny stainless steel exterior is one of the hallmarks of the truck’s function-over-form design ethos.
The all-electric truck was designed from the outside in. Tesla first decided to build a truck out of stainless steel exterior, and then the material's properties dictated all the major decisions about the vehicle.

To construct the Cybertruck’s exoskeleton Tesla is not using regular stainless steel but rather 30X cold rolled ultra-hard stainless steel.
This material was chosen to impart toughness to the exterior of the truck. However, the toughness of the stainless steel also meant that the material could not be stamped into curves like aluminum or regular steel.
Early on in the Cybertruck’s development Tesla also decided putting paint, which is an expensive and flimsy material, on the exterior surface of the Cybertruck would take away from the truck’s ruggedness.
All this is to say, the Cybertruck's shiny stainless steel exterior is not just one of the vehicle’s features but rather the most important aspect of the truck on which all other design decisions are based.
Given the central role Cybertruck’s stainless steel plays, you would assume owners would keep the shiny stainless steel surface the way it is.

However, what we’re seeing from early Cybertruck owners is that almost all of them appear to be willing to sacrifice the Cybertruck’s ruggedness to personalize their new vehicle.
Since the Cybertruck started deliveries, we’ve seen several wraps. There are currently Cybertrucks wrapped in matte black; we’ve also seen Cybertrucks wrapped with highly reflective gloss black material that keeps the truck’s shininess but in black.
There are also Cybertrucks driving around in pine green and different shades of red. There is even a Cybertruck wrapped in pink for when the brawny meets Barbie.
Cybertruck wraps have been almost unanimously adored however, the tide is starting to change with a recent Cybertruck color. This Cybertruck, wrapped in satin white by Tsportline, appears to be unanimously disliked by the Tesla community.
Since this white Cybertruck hit the interwebs a few days ago, it has become a common occurrence to see people online declaring it as the worst Cybertruck color.
What’s interesting here is that satin white, together with satin black, is one of two color options that Tesla has said it will provide an in-house wrapping service for the Cybertruck.
This is the first wrap that I really dislike on Cybertruck 😂

Tesla has yet to start wrapping Cybertrucks, however, given the unanimous dislike for this color maybe Tesla should reevaluate the decision to offer this color before the company goes out and purchases a ton of wrapping material in white.
Currently, these are the Cybertruck wraps we’ve seen so far however, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more Cybertruck wrap variants come out. Until then, make sure to visit our site torquenews.com/Tesla regularly for the latest updates.
So what do you think? Surprised to see a unanimous dislike of the white Cybertruck? Also, what’s your favorite Cybertruck wrap color so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
