A distressed Tesla Cybertruck owner from Missouri, Inger Brane, recently reached out to fellow Cybertruck owners online after his truck died, leaving him stranded in the middle of the road.
Not only that, Inger got out of his Cybertruck to assess the problem. Unfortunately, his truck became completely bricked at that time, making it impossible for him to reenter the vehicle.
Inger shared his predicament with the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.
Here is what he wrote…
“My truck just died in the middle of the road. No power, and I am locked out. How do I get back inside?”
It’s bad enough when a vehicle stops working in the middle of the road; however, being completely locked out and unable to access the inside is a whole another level of inconvenience.
Having said that, although the situation sounds bad, it could’ve gone even worse. If Inger had left his phone in his truck, he would have been unable to call for help, compounding his already unenviable situation.
In this respect, the Cybertruck owner should consider himself lucky.
Going back to Inger’s situation, the first thing people wanted to know was whether he had run his truck’s battery to zero.
However, the Cybertruck owner responded, “It was fully charged.”
At this point, most people would be unhappy with Tesla or the Cybertruck; however, fellow Cybertruck owners say it's Inger’s fault he found himself in this situation.
A Cybertruck owner, Williams Ainsley, writes, “Why didn’t you leave a door open? Shaking my head.”
I personally see this as victim blaming; however, please let me know what you think in the comments.
Going back to Inger’s case, so far, we’ve seen multiple Cybertruck owners who have faced catastrophic failures and most of these people end their statements claiming “they still love the truck.”
For example, a Cybertruck owner who snapped his rear subframe in half after he ran into a pothole says, “This is the most amazing truck ever.”
However, Inger appears to have had it with his truck. Responding to a group member who suggested possible ways he could get his Cybertruck to wake up, Inger responds, “Had it towed. What a pain.”
Overall, it’s surprising to see Cybertruck owners who have paid over $100,000 for their vehicles dealing with so many failures. Please let me know what should be done in the comments. Why anyone would buy this overpriced piece of crap is beyond me. However, I do now know why Musk wanted to buy my old stainless steel refrigerator.

All vehicles should have clearly recognizable and accessible mechanical door opening mechanisms on the inside and outside. This is a serious safety issue and NHTSA should get on this!!!

I can't believe how stupid the people are that buy these under tested, rust prone, fire prone vehicles that we weigh 4 tons, just because a carnival barker (Elon Musk) tells them how great they are. Also they have numerous body/suspension/frame/software issues. This proves the old saying: A fool and his money are soon parted. By the way, I was an automotive engineer (GM & Chrysler) for 20+ years and an auto mechanic for 10 years.

This piece and it's writer is the problem with today's news society. It's a constant click bait drama pot stiring nonsense. Trying to passive aggressively poke at and probe people with negativity. Find a real story to cover. And a different way to engage your audience. This is why no one f×cks with your garbage naratives and don't trust the media.

At this point, I think NTSB needs to get involved, order a recall, and inspect broken CTs for design flaws. Subframes shouldn't just break. And the random "bricking" just shouldn't be happening in a $100k vehicle.

Perhaps instead of "leaving the door open," which is probably not a good idea when you are parked on a highway, perhaps you should buy a vehicle that isn't a complete piece of s***? Oh, and don't hit a pothole, or your frame might snap into. Garbage vehicle.

Leave your door open? That definitely is victim blaming. What if this was in Minnesota and it's blowing snow? I wouldn't want to leave the door open. What happens when one of these abominations of a vehicle locks an individual out with their infant inside in 90° heat? Does someone need to die before the Tesla diehard finally admit that this vehicle is a joke?

A simple retort to all of the “door open” people. Why should he even need to leave the door open at all?
Then my mind went to “fail/safe, fail/secure”. Rethinking about the situation, I would rather deal with a “once in a great while” inconvenience of getting locked out, then having my car brick and unlock itself while it’s parked somewhere I do not trust, especially if it becomes common knowledge. Not that I would ever have any desire to buy a Cybertruck.

I own a Chevy Bolt EV and haven't had ANY of these problems. If my car stops it's still smart enough not to lock my keys in. Plus it has OnStar, so I have support there as well. Potholes, no problem! Keys in car and you shut all the doors, no problem! Stalled, connect to OnStar, no problem! You all can have fun with your "fancy" so called technology advanced car. I'll stick to my Chevy. 😁

I think it victim shaming if they're only responding with what should have been done rather than offering a solution. Don't comment just for the satisfaction of being more intelligent than the person that is trying to get help. That's like telling a shooting victim that they should have ducked.
