Tesla Fans Are Celebrating the Growing Anti-Tesla Sentiment as More & More Tesla Owners Dump Their Teslas at a Huge Loss – One Tesla Buyer Says “I Can’t Wait to Score a Deal on a Cybertruck”

Several Tesla enthusiasts are celebrating reports that many Tesla owners are selling their vehicles at a significant loss. One Cybertruck buyer admits he’s secretly hoping the anti-Tesla sentiment continues so he can get a good price on a use Cybertruck.

DennisCW is a tech YouTuber, Tesla owner, investor and all around a huge fan of the EV maker. So far Dennis has bought all of Tesla’s vehicles including the Cybertruck, Model S, 3, X, & Y.

However, Dennis points out that a recent conversation with a friend who works at a luxury car dealership has been enlightening about the increasing anti-Tesla and anti-Elon Musk sentiment even among Tesla owners.

According to the friend who works at a car dealership, Tesla owners, unhappy with Elon Musk, are getting rid of their cars in droves.

This might seem like a concerning development for a Tesla fan, however, Dennis and other Tesla loyalists are celebrating the news in the hopes that they will be able to snag a new Tesla at a discount.

Dennis shared his thoughts on this matter on X.

He writes…

“The Elon / Tesla hate is going to have some interesting market effects for Tesla sales.

My buddy works at a Luxury OEM Dealership, and he says he's appraised 13 Teslas in the last 2 weeks.

The exodus from Tesla is happening on some level.”

Like I said, as a huge Tesla fan, you might think this would be concerning for Dennis, however, he seems to be celebrating this development.

He continues to write…

“...so more deals? 🍿”

Below his post, Dennis included a screenshot of a conversation he had with his luxury car dealer friend.

The dealer friend writes…

“I appraised 13 Teslas in the last 2 weeks”

This alone doesn’t necessarily indicate a mass exodus away from the Tesla brand. However, thankfully, Dennis asks his friend how many Tesla trade-in offers he typically receives in a two-week span.

In response, his friend states that this represents an increase of over 600% in the number of Tesla owners trying to sell their vehicles to him.

The friend writes…

“Normally I get like 1-2 people trying to sell their Teslas every 2 weeks

It is insane how many I have seen in the same time span.”

The car dealer states that he has received so many Teslas that he no longer wants additional ones.

He writes…

“I don't even want them in my app anymore lol”

The dealer then continues to say that a customer came in wanting to trade a Model Y. He offered him $5,000 less than the market value for the vehicle, and the Tesla owner still sold his vehicle without batting an eye.

He continues to write..

“I just traded a 2021 Tesla Model Y Long Range for $22,000, customers flipped $5,000 negative but didn't care.”

Tesla owners are so eager to get rid of their vehicles that they are willing to lose $5,000; that can’t be good for the company.

However, looking at the comments, Tesla loyaltists don’t seem fazed one bit by this development.

A Tesla owner Liam says…

“As a Tesla customer who cares about AFFORDABILITY for myself and others, I hope Elon never leaves politics then

Keep these discounts, incentives, and promos coming Tesla!

Cause people will tune out the noise and still buy. I'm also looking to get a 2nd Tesla soon.”

Another prospective Cybertruck buyer hopes people will keep selling their Teslas at a discount so he can get a good price on a used Cybertruck.

The person who goes by the X handle “Cult Buster” writes…

“I can’t wait to score a deal on a Cybertruck, part of me is secretly hoping more people get riled up about it!”

Overall, it’s interesting to see how Tesla fans are responding to other owners dumping their Teslas. However, please let me know what you think in the comments. Still not seeing it at retail. We bought a gently used 2023 Model Y LR with a tow hitch in January. I just looked, and the list prices are the same today.

Much relieved I wouldn't have saved "$5000" by waiting 2 months, as the article implies. *whew*

One of the most awesome cars ever to come to the market and people are dumping the car because Elon works for Doge.
One should not mix politics with good business decisions. When DOGE’S work is done everyone will forget about it and sales of Tesla will skyrocket!
The stock is also getting to be dirt cheap. I will load up on it when I see a bottom formation in the charts.

As owners of two 2020 Tesla model 3’s, I’m not glad the company is doing poorly because of Elon’s activities. There must be a lot of people losing their jobs as sales of new Teslas diminish. That in itself is sad, though I hope they can easily retrain to work on other EV’s.

If you look at the bigger picture, it was very quiet at the service center the last time I was there. That will mean fewer technicians to work on cars, so fewer appointments available.

Also, because these cars are computers on wheels, we know what it’s like when a company stops supporting their software. We’ve been enjoying frequent software updates, that keep making our cars better. I find that is one of the great values of the Tesla brand. Really, all Tesla owners need the company to stay in business and do well.

I love my car and had certainly planned on driving it for a very long time. I don’t want it to become an obsolete brick.

I hope everyone who wants to buy one gets a good deal. But then I can only hope Mr. Musk finds something else to do other than politics, or he sells the company to someone good. Meanwhile, our cars are armed with bumper stickers that we hope will ward off vandalism. We love the cars and but don’t drive them to show support for what the CEO is doing. Unfortunately it’s hard for many people to separate the two.😊

I cant imagine being such a weak whiny little wuss bag that I would sell my vehicle because somebody is trying to HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Seriously, put your big girl pants on and see what is actually happening.

The only reason this guy has a car company is because I can't buy a BYD here Tesla is an over hyped over priced under preforming POS by comparison

The guy that can't wait to score a deal on one of those rolling fridges can probably find one of those useless junkwagons on super sale now. A "Truck" in name alone.

There aren’t enough “Tesla fans” to save Tesla from the huge losses it’s experiencing. An auto maker needs to sell NEW cars in order to stay in business. Tesla’s new car sales have plummeted. That won’t change.
