I get it. Cybertruck and other Tesla-related crimes would make almost any Tesla owner angry enough to resort to some street justice to fight the injustice. In fact, the idea was recently spoofed on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum about the possibility of electrifying a Cybertruck's body as a lesson to anyone attempting to damage one.
The "Zap-O-Tron 8000" For The Cybertruck Owner
Do you find yourself worrying about petty vandals, window smashers, or those who think your futuristic Cybertruck is just too shiny to leave unscathed? Are you tired of scraping off inappropriate graffiti from your stainless-steel panels? Then get ready to experience a jolt of pure comedic justice with our new and improved Zap-O-Tron 8000!
What Is It? The Zap-O-Tron 8000 is a totally over-the-top (and entirely fictional) security solution that transforms your Cybertruck's panels into a high-voltage electric fence—perfect for when Sentry Mode just isn't intimidating enough. That's right: while your Cybertruck stands guard like a stainless-steel sentinel, our device will supercharge its exterior with up to 8,000 volts of raw, unbridled electricity.
How Does It Work?
- Plug & Play – Securely install the Zap-O-Tron 8000 module under the Cybertruck's steel shell (comes with 300 pages of disclaimers).
- Enable Sentry Mode – Switch on Sentry Mode from the comfort of your phone, or just tap the big, ominous red button on your dash labeled "ZAP."
- Sit Back & Relax – While you sip a latte in your local coffee shop, rest assured that the next person who tries to key your priceless polygon-on-wheels is in for the shock of their lifetime—literally.
Why Choose the Zap-O-Tron 8000?
- Unforgettable Deterrent: The only thing more memorable than your Cybertruck's radical design will be that tingly sensation your would-be vandal experiences.
- The Perfect Meme Generator: Any trespasser's awkward jolt dance can be captured by your cameras. Viral internet fame awaits you.
- Prevents Window Breakages: Because if they can't get near the window without being turned into a human plasma ball, they definitely can't smash it.
Side Effects May Include:
- Lawsuits from outraged vandals. ("Your Honor, it was just a tiny scratch!")
- Overblown headlines you can brag about at dinner parties: "Tesla Owner Zaps Thief into Next Tuesday!"
- Elon Musk spontaneously tweeting about you. You'll never know if it's sarcasm or praise, but it'll be a story to share.
Disclaimer:
- The Zap-O-Tron 8000 is satirically recommended for comedic effect only. Actual attempts to electrify your vehicle may result in legal trouble, moral dilemmas, angry neighbors, or unexplainable scorch marks on your driveway. Any resemblances to real-life shock devices is purely coincidental.
- We are not responsible if the person attempting to damage your Cybertruck also gains superpowers and becomes your lifelong arch-nemesis.
So if you're looking to really leave an impression—like, "8,000-volt" kind of impression—on any misguided vandal who dares cross your Cyber-fortress, look no further than Zap-O-Tron 8000. Give them something to talk about for the rest of their static-haired days!
Zap-O-Tron 8000: Because nothing says "Hands off my ride" like a bolt of comedic lightning.
There Are Legal Limits to Protecting Your Property
While the post is an entertaining news bit that fosters the "criminal gets what he deserves" reaction from the public, the fact of the matter is that any attempt to cause harm―even a non-fatal electrical shock―could place the Cybertruck owner in jail if not prison and financial ruin.
In previous articles, we've discussed stunts car owners have resorted to that seemed like a relatively mild prank or scare tactic to thwart doorstep and car thieves with glitter bombs and exploding flash-bang booby traps to scare the bejesus out of the malcontent-minded perpetrator:
See: A Car Thieves' Glitter Bomb Christmas Story and Booby Trapped Truck Makes the News and Raises Questions.
However, both articles point out that such scare tactics can easily become unintentional manslaughter situations that can blow up in your face and ruin your life forever.
For example, in case you did not click on the article links (with video), a nearby child could have become blinded by "fart spray" in one situation that happened, and a potential car thief could have lost one or both eyes by being too dangerously close to a flash-bang device.
Not convinced? Then listen to one automotive lawyer who warns viewers it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye (or worse) over your retaliatory pranks:
No Charges for Man Who Booby Trapped His Truck
Just Don't Do It Message
As I stated earlier, "I get it." However, even though the post was intended as a mood-lightening spoof to diffuse some of the anger, there's always "that guy" we all know who just might take it a little too seriously and show how it could be done.
We would like to hear your thoughts (angry as they might be) about the best constructive way to react to Tesla-related crimes. Has your Tesla been targeted? What have you done to protect yourself and your car or Cybertruck lately?
