No Other EV Compares For The Value: New Model 3 Long Range RWD With 363 Miles of Range Is $35K After U.S. Tax Credit

The new Model 3 RWD Long Range is out, and this EV is the best EV on the market today for the value you get from it in the U.S. It's $35,000 after the U.S. EV tax credit, making Tesla over delivering on the Model 3.

Tesla Releases Model 3 RWD For Just $35,000 After Tax Credit

Some have worried that EVs are too expensive and can't go very far, and that myth is more than dispelled with Tesla's latest offering.

The new Model 3 RWD long range is here, and it's the best EV on the market for the value you get from it.

Here's what you get with a Model 3 RWD long range:

  • Range: 363 miles
  • Price: $34,990 ($42,490 without tax credit)
  • Top Speed: 125 mph
  • 0-60 mph: 4.9 seconds

This is the ultimate EV sedan in the U.S. As the years go by, I think Tesla's Model 3 vehicles - the long range versions will get over 400 miles of range. Eventually, EVs are going to far surpass gas cars in range with the advances of battery technology.

Is the Model 3 RWD Worth It?

My car is a 2022 Model 3 RWD, which started with 272 miles of range. In hindsight, waiting for this new Model 3 RWD long range would have been the smart decision. However, I didn't know what I didn't know. I love my car, and it's great, but this car is a step up from it in many ways.

It has a 1-second faster 0 to 60 mph time. It is LESS expensive overall than the Model 3 RWD. And, it has superior range - nearly 100 miles more.

Even at 80%, the vehicle has just over 290 miles of range. Range anxiety is a thing of the past with this new EV. For long road trips, you can charge to 363 miles.

I do not think that this car has LFP batteries in it, but think that the chemistry is Lithium-ion, which means charging to about 80% is better for the vehicle.

In my case, I charge to 100% regularly and my current range is about 257 miles, from 272 to begin with, or about 5.5% battery degradation. That's not too bad for nearly 2 years of ownership and over 17,000 miles. Supposedly, the degradation will slow a lot from here, but I'll be sure to keep you all updated.

At the standard 10% battery degradation, this EV will still have nearly 330 miles of range. That's pretty impressive.

Tesla continues to lower the cost of its vehicles and the U.S. still has the $7,500 EV tax credit, making this EV one special vehicle.

There's just one problem: Elon Musk. I'd never consider purchasing a Tesla. Maybe one day conservatives will feel that it's ok to drive around in an EV.
