Although in recent months the Tesla Model S took almost all attention as regarding updates, the Tesla Model X family SUV has also received a major update that has allowed it to big gains in performance and equipment. The Plaid version is the most loved by all buyers so far. The first units have already been delivered, although not that many, taking into account its high price.
The Model X has always been the least affordable - in commercial terms - of the family. Tesla's second product offers a very familiar format (SUV), but not a very big demand. Mono-volumes are not the most requested car types around the world, but Tesla has managed to position the model thanks to a number of unique and unrivaled features, such as falcon-style rear doors, which are a very noticeable and cool feature. The Model X is one of a kind nowadays, and we can confidently guess that it will continue to be that way for a long time.
While most OEM manufacturers choose more commercial solutions such as sedans, SUVs or even pick-ups, the Model X remains in the gap thanks to its constant updates. The last one was received last October. Thanks to this update, the Model X has been able to feature new elements, more equipment, slight aesthetic touches and above all, a new version as cool as the car itself, which is typical of Tesla.
Thinking of an SUV with more than 1,000 HP may sound ridiculous for most OEMs, but not for Tesla. The Model X Plaid offers 1,020 electric horsepower. An acceleration from 0 to 60 miles in just 2.5 seconds and a mark of 9.9 seconds in the quarter mile (which is an excellent timing, indeed); all this thanks to a scheme in which it utilizes three electric motors and a large battery capacity that allows it to offer a range of 333 miles (535 kilometers) EPA certified.
Everything surrounding the Tesla Model X Plaid is really spectacular. As part of the update, the interior has also been remodeled, with more gadgets and accessories available. The 'yoke' steering wheel of this latest version is like the one in the Model S Plaid. There is also a 17-inch screen, complemented by a second rear panel for the entertainment and joy of back-seat travelers.
In terms of size and habitability, the Tesla Model X does not change its usual capabilities, offering the regular five, six or seven-seater format. Now, all that much technology, features and gadgets do not come cheap: the tag price of the Tesla Model X Plaid is set at a minimum of $ 125,490. A very special SUV no doubt, and as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, its first new owners can already start to enjoy its drive.
