Why the 2020 Ram 1500 Just Won Two More Big Honors

The 2020 Ram 1500 has another feather in its visor after receiving a Consumer Guide Best Buy Award. This is the 12th year in a row that the Ram 1500 has been honored in the Large Pickup category. The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel also was selected as one of Car and Driver’s 10Best Cars and Trucks. The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel wins the Full-Size Pickup category for the second consecutive year. These are impressive wins for the truck that has won numerous awards including MotorTrend Truck of the Year. It has also previously won the title of North American Truck of the Year.

2020 Ram 1500 as a Consumer Guide Best Buy

The Consumer Guide editors select Automotive Best Buy winners after testing and evaluating all major vehicles available in the United States.

Increased Power and Luxury

The Ram 1500 has been continuously upping the ante in the pickup truck wars. The Ram line of trucks has been lauded for improving its interiors and adding luxury in a segment that previously was used mostly for work. The 2020 Ram 1500 really changes the game by vastly increasing the towing capability and payload.

The Ram 1500 features up to 12,750 pounds of towing capability and 2,300 pounds of payload. The eTorque mild hybrid system improves fuel efficiency in both V-6 and V-8 models. Car and Driver 10Best Cars and Trucks Award

Similar to Consumer Guide, Car and Driver conducts its own tests and evaluations before naming it 10Best vehicles. Car and Driver uses a 100 point scale, rating the vehicles on how well it performs its purpose, how compelling it is to drive and overall value.

This year Car and Driver singled out the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel for its 10Best award. This is the second year in a row Ram 1500 – the most awarded light-duty truck in America – has been named to Car and Driver’s 10Best.

According to Car and Driver, “The Ram isn’t just the best truck out there; it’s one of the best vehicles. Its supple ride, rich interior and fluid power delivery elevate it to a place we never thought possible for a pickup.”

According to Ram, for 2020, the Ram 1500 becomes America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup with 480 lb.-ft. of torque and is the most capable light-duty diesel, with towing capability up to 12,560 pounds. The all-new third-generation 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel engine propels the 2020 Ram 1500 to an industry-leading range, exceeding 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel.
