Jeep lovers still have a little time to score the head-turning pink color called Tuscadero! Jeep has decided to extend the flaming pink paint option for the 2022 Jeep Wrangler until the end of December, because demand has been so hot.
Limited-Edition Winner
Jeep often has special edition colors available for a limited time. This year’s special paint colors for the 2021 Wrangler were Nacho, Gecko, Chief and Tuscadero. Jeep has logged nearly 30,000 orders for the magnificent Magenta in just three months, so it has decided to extend the availability through the end of December. Tuscadero was the most popular of the limited-edition colors. This is the first time that Jeep has used this bright of pink in its palette and it was a huge draw for fans.
“We expected Tuscadero to be popular and the customer response has been overwhelmingly strong," said Jim Morrison, vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “It's so popular, we're extending production into 2022 model-year production to meet strong customer demand. Customers can place an order through December of this year.”
2022 Jeep Wrangler Production Kicks Off This Week
Jeep will be switching over to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler production on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021. The Jeep plant in Toledo, Ohio has been working overtime to meet all of its 2021 orders.
Tuscadero Pink
When Tuscadero was launched, Jeep said it was adding the color with a “nod to nostalgia and to honor those with a passionate spirit”. I doubt most people working at Jeep are even old enough to remember Fonzie’s onetime girlfriend on Happy Days named Pinky Tuscadero. The workers may have seen it in reruns. Or Tuscadero could be named for something else entirely but it sure is a great shade. The popularity of the striking color may be a comment on COVID. People want something that stands out, not just more of the boring rut they have been stuck in. It could also be that more women are ordering the popular Jeep Wrangler, but the color is attractive to men and women.
Special Paint Ordered Straight From the Factory
What is particularly nice about the head-turning color is that it can be ordered straight from the factory, so it is covered by the factory warranty and dealers will have access to the grade and quality of paint if you ever need a touch-up. Touch-ups can be frustrating for owners that have specialty after-market paint applied. It is available for order on 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sport, Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe and 392 models. The special paint option costs $395.

The above is not correct regarding the start date. On Jan 4, 2022, I checked the status of a 2022 Wrangler I ordered in November 2021. My dealer informed me that Jeep had not yet begun production of the 2022 models.
I also called Jeep which confirmed my dealer was correct--as of Jan 4, 2022, Jeep had not yet begun production of the 2022 model year.

I was just informed my Pink 4x4 Unlimited was canceled. I was 1 in 15 to cancel. They ran out of the Pink.
I need to choose another color. So I am not sure what to do. I guess wait for February and see what are my choices or go to another brand. So really very sad about that.
