Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.

Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.

Notified my Camry had defective paint fall 2019 and that I would be contacted for repair, no follow up.

for those who were notified or qualify-Toyota Customer support says to take your vehicle to a Toyota dealer for inspection and the dealer is supposed to repaint at no cost.

What about LEXUS? I don’t think they are taking as good of care of their customers as Toyota! I am very disappointed! My 2008 GX470 is peeling paint and they advised it is NOT covered as not mfg in Canada????

Took my wife’s white blizzard pearl 09 Toyota RAV4 Nov 2020 the dealership came out took pictures told me that a vehicle would be supplied to us while they are repainting the truck, that would be up to 30 days, told me to carry the vehicle to the bodyshop that they told me to carry it. Took it there they did what they had to do and again told me they would keep it up to 30 days, told me that the dealership would get back with me. Well after 5 months haven’t heard nothing, I called the dealership and talked to a woman she looked it up and said oh my it’s been a while let me see about getting you in here because of the time. A month later nothing I called the dealership again this time got the service manager which told me “ LET ME DO SOME INVESTIGATION AND ILL GET BACK TO YOU. Well after a month now it’s late June called the dealership again now get the Asst Service Manager he says “ LET ME DO SOME INVESTIGATION ON THIS, THE SERVICE MANAGER IS ON VACATION AND ILL CALL YOU BACK. Now after a couple of days I called again and now it’s well TOYOTA only given them 10 days to do the job my truck has rust on the roof where the paint has peeled off. And oh I forgot a deer ran into the truck I asked them on the first visit if I replaced the front door, fender, would the truck still get painted. I was told I have the places where the paint was peeling on the original parts go ahead and replace them everything but the plastic parts will be painted. Ow it’s oh the truck been in a wreck the top has rust where the paint has peeled off and I would have to pay for the EXTRA WORK to be performed on this truck. Now I was told to replace the parts, I was told THEY would get back with me on when to bring the car, now ALL THIS IS LIES. Seems to me the dealership trying to get out of painting the truck

I have a 2014 white Toyota Corolla and the paint is literally just flaking off in so many random areas. It has become so bad I can no longer even wash the car because any amount of water pressure just removes more paint. It's time to take action with the dealership.

My paint is not only peeling from the sun, but it has oxidized. It won't wax out and I think you should offer that in your coverage as well. I'm very unsatisfied. I have owned several Toyota's and if I can't get this issue resolved, it will be my last one and I will let it be know on Facebook and all over social media.

Having blizzard white paint issues on hood and rooftop. Toyota denied to help. Sounds like a common issue with paint. What’s next step? Any advice out there?

The paint on the hood of my 2021 Avalon has been chipping off for years. I’ve checked other Avalon’s of the same color and their hood paint is coming off also. This must be a factory defect because too many Avalon’s have this problem!

I have a 2010 Prius, Blizzard Pearl. Last year paint started coming off in sheets. It’s obviously this issue. Can you explain to me why the Prius is not covered?

Nikki Corriher (not verified)    August 19, 2021 - 10:24AM

I have a 2005 Lexus gx470 that the paint is pealing off in sheets. So far I've only been told that the warranty only extends as far back as the 2008. I'm struggling to touch up the bare metal exposed from the peeling paint bc I live near the coast and salty air. I really could use some help from the manufacturer on this.

There is a whole group of Highlander owners with peeling white blizzard pearl paint that have been left out of this coverage. We have opened cases with Toyota, emailed the president of Toyota NA, and went through reviews by the Toyota Executive offices. We have sent pictures, volunteered to have our vehicles inspected etc. we have been denied at every turn because “Highlanders are not included in the program”. May e it is time for some updated coverage on this issue. Toyota is getting credit for fixing the problem, but they have left many of us ho,ding the bag

Looks as if I'll have to report to the bbb they're saying itll be a year before fixing my paint recall issue

2011 Toyota Avalon blizzard white/pearl paint flaking, bubbling and an 4-5” section of paint came off vehicle neat rear windshield. Can someone confirm it’s for owners who bought their vehicles used please?

bonnie (not verified)    August 25, 2021 - 2:49PM

I encourage all Highlander owners with Blizzard Pearl paint that is peeling to email the president of Toyota NA and complain that Highlanders should be covered just like the rest of the models with this issue. [email protected]

Please tell me who i can send these to. I went to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle 6 months ago when it started while it was still under warranty. And was told by the service team to take a heat gun to it and take the clear coat off which was absolutely ridiculous. This is a 2018 that I purchased brand new. My husband purchased a brand new Tacoma a month later. I am so very disappointed. My vehicle looks like this on the hood mirrors and around all of the seems. It’s not on the direct surface but does appear to be between the paint and clear coat. This vehicle is parked in a garage 75 percent of the time. I have plenty of photos to send

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma in Super White. The paint is peeling like paint on a house. Contacted Toyota. They developed a claim # for me and advised me to take it to a dealership for evaluation. Paint expert/Body shop manager looked at it and said, “yep, just like all the rest of them!” They then took pictures of everything and submitted it to Toyota. Still waiting to hear back now but was advised my Tacoma is not part of the recall! I was advised by the “paint expert/Body shop manager” that when they painted the super white and the other color, that they DID NOT apply a clear coat over the paint like other colors.
Although my truck is a 2015, it’s in pristine shape(except for the paint) never been invoked in an accident and only has 60K miles on it!

Waiting to hear an answer back from Toyota now. The estimate to repair the paint problem was $3300. And that’s with not painting the bed quarter panels and roof.

Beginning to think that this was a Failure to Disclose at point of sale?

My 2016/7544A Super White Toyota Tacoma is peeling paint on the right front fender. I just noticed it recently and Toyota is stating that its not part of the recall models. Anyone else out there with a Tacoma having this issue?

julio ortiz (not verified)    September 2, 2021 - 11:36AM

It's not just the white paint I have a 2012 corolla in blue and the paint it's coming off in random spots that it shouldn't

Brian (not verified)    September 2, 2021 - 1:12PM

2016 Super White Tacoma, lots of paint chips. Exposed to lots of sun in Hawaii. Dealer and Toyota neglected the problem.

Hi. I have a 2013 Blizzard Pearl highlander and the paint is peeling on the roof. I called Toyota and was told that the highlander is not part of the recall. Is there anything someone else have done or who they called that help resolve their issue.

Bonnie (not verified)    September 3, 2021 - 4:38PM

See my previous comment on sending am email to the president of Toyota North America. So far I do not know any Highlander owners who have had their cars covered for paint, but if enough complain maybe they will cover us
