Toyota has announced a new customer support plan for vehicles with peeling white and blizzard pearl paint. The paint can degrade very rapidly. Some vehicles see the paint begin to come off in as little as one year. The problem affects nearly 2 million vehicles. Models included in the program include the Toyota Camry, 4Runner, Corolla, Avalon, Lexus GX, or Scion IQ or XB. The program will support you whether you are the original owner or purchased the vehicle used.

Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.
Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.
Contact your dealer if you have an affected vehicle. They will tell you the schedule and plan for repairs to your vehicle. Those owners who wish to have direct contact with Toyota on this issue can call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-888-270-9371 Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.
If you have a Toyota with Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint that seems defective please tell us about it in the comments below. Detail your contact with Toyota and how the issue is being handled. Your experience may help a fellow owner.

My wife's 2013 Lexus RX350 with Starfire Pearl White paint is having the same problem with large flakes of paint falling off down to the metal. It's happening at 4 protected areas on the car. I went to a Lexus paint shop where I was told that the paint has poor adhesion and to file a claim with Lexus. Today I was contacted by Lexus and was told that the car is out of warrantee and that they could not help me. Is anyone else having this problem with their Lexus RX350? How should I proceed?

I purchased a 2015 Toyota highlander limited and the paint is peeling in chunks. I spoke to Toyota customer service and they said they did not include the highlander in the paint recalls. What the heck??? I have only had it a year. Anyone want to help me file a class action law suit? This is unfair to consumers to pay for expensive paint jobs when Toyota knows that the paint has a defect.

If they paint one section of the car ,,it is likely that the paint won't match the other sections .They should be liable for painting the entire car - but they are refusing to . Class action may need to take place .

I have a 2012 Toyota Highlander with peeling Blizzard Pearl paint. I contacted Toyota & was told my vin # was not included in the recall. Why, every other model with Blizzard Pearl is included. They know that paint is defective so why are just some model being singled out. I need someone to look into this as my vehicle needs to be repaired just as they are doing for the rest of them. Some further guidance on this is needed.

I’m in the process of filing a class action lawsuit to include Toyota vehicles that Toyota says is not part of the recall regarding their shoddy paint- email me your name to be included in this list. I will not rest until Toyota fixes their pos paint job that it peels in just a few years! I’ve talked to a bunch of reps and a senior rep by the name of Kimberly told me to file a class action lawsuit if I want to but there is nothing they can do for me here. Okay, I will file one Kimberly and Toyota can thank your awesome customer service skills for millions to be lost again.

I've had a similar experience

I've had a similar experience with my 2013 Toyota Highlander. The Blizzard Pearl paint is peeling from the roof and Toyota said it would not be covered. Same known issue, same paint color, different vehicle than the ones listed in the recall. They told me the info would be used to "track trends" for future recalls and that if the paint was fixed now and a future recall included my vehicle we would be reimbursed, but that doesn't help us with the cost to repaint the whole roof now!

Our 2013 Highlander's paint (Blizzard Pearl) is peeling off from around the windshield. Mentioned it to the dealer we bought it at and they first said they would call their Body Shop to see about scheduling the repair. Later when I started to leave was told they couldn't fix it because Highlander was not on the list. The issue is with the Blizzard Pearl and the White PAINT. The model name should not matter. Should Toyota be allowed to exclude a group of customers (many very loyal as we are or were). We own three.

Toyota has given us( my daughter is now the owner) the runaround for nearly 2 years now. One Toyota body shop accepted that her 2011 Avalon (with Blizzard Pearl paint) was indeed peeling after 9 years. They said that they got the Avalon repaint approved from Toyota and put her on a wait list. # 6 in line. Now almost one and a half years later, they continue to claim this vehicle is on at waiting list. Still # 6! Repeated calls to corporate result in a continued runaround. We checked with another dealer, and he wont touch anything that has been previously had process started from another dealer. In fact, he says Avalons have not even been added to the list of eligible Toyota models to be repainted. It appears to me that Toyota is playing the "wear them down until they give up" strategy" . After purchasing, owning, and driving Toyotas for over 40 years, I'm done with them.. No more Toyotas for me.

I have a 2011 Highlander with Blizzard white paint. It started bubbling about a year ago, we put in a claim. It now has peeled- We now have a large exposed metal area on the side of our car and the top. Toyota took photos and sent to corporate- Toyota said they will not fix it. . Doesn't make sense- I have never had a vehicle that has had paint that has peeled.
