Toyota has announced a new customer support plan for vehicles with peeling white and blizzard pearl paint. The paint can degrade very rapidly. Some vehicles see the paint begin to come off in as little as one year. The problem affects nearly 2 million vehicles. The program will support you whether you are the original owner or purchased the vehicle used.

Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.

Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.

Contact your dealer if you have an affected vehicle. They will tell you the schedule and plan for repairs to your vehicle. Those owners who wish to have direct contact with Toyota on this issue can call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-888-270-9371 Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

If you have a Toyota with Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint that seems defective please tell us about it in the comments below. Detail your contact with Toyota and how the issue is being handled. Your experience may help a fellow owner.

i have an 2009 Rav4 Blizzard White Peal, the service advisor i've been using since i got the car 14 years ago had the roof completely repainted last year at no charge to me because the paint was peeling off the roof bad, and early this ear developed several dime size or smaller chips that have been cracking off the top of the drivers side door and rear window molding, so i told my new service advisor about it (because my original service advisor has since moved on) and she refused to do anything about it, she said it's no longer covered, which may or not may not be true but it's pretty bad customer service because it is a well know issue that has already happed once on the car, just my two cents... ..

My 2012 Sequoia in blizzard white is starting to chip off more around the windshield. The top lip of the windshield is the worst, but the paint is starting to pull away on the back hatch. It's 11 years old, so I expect it to have some cosmetic flaws. There are a couple dings on the doors, where most dings are.

I called the dealership and emailed Toyota customer care. They both said the recall ended in January 2023. I am going to request a quote, next time my vehicle is in for an oil change. That way I can save for a repaint. In the meantime, I will pray they reopen the recall so those folks that missed the window can have their vehicle fixed.

2009 Toyota Corolla S
I got this notice a few years ago and forgot to go to a dealership to check but I will now, since they extended it. Mine has peeling on hood mainly. I really like the Super White over Pearl or metallic colors on other cars. It seems to stay clean easily and minimal rinsing it looks great and even better at night. I own my car since 2018 but I'm not the original owner so will see.

The blizzard pearl paint is peeling off in strips from the roof of my 2012 highlander. If the recall was on the paint, why does it matter what model you have? Makes zero sense.

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Club Cab in which the Super White paint 040 is fading on the hood and roof. I just had the peeling paint repaired around the left rear door window. Is Toyota offering to fix these problems?

I have a 2018 blizzard pearl toyota corolla. I have reached out to the dealership a few times. It has been confirmed that my VIN # is one affected by the paint recall. Although i have left messages, i can't seem to get anyone to help me resolve this or even call me back. Meanwhile the paint has already chipped enuf that underneath is starting to rust. I am disappointed with the lack of customer service in regard to the recall n I wud appreciate some assistance in resolving this. It's clearly getting worse, can't jus paint over rust, the longer I wait for someone to return my call the worse it gets
Thank uou

2013 Rav 4 Blizzard Pearl. Well the paint just came off in a sheet on the lift gate and the roof 3 weeks ago. Last week Toyota tells me the recall/fix expired for me in May 2023. Problem was paint did not peel then so I would not have been able to redeem the recall. $$$$ about $4000 to repaint, there is nothing wrong with the vehicle other than that and it has about 100K more miles left in it. But a paint job may last 5 years. Disappointed and if I buy a new car it will not be a Toyota. Very unhappy ex customer.

We have been getting the "run around" for 4 years now. Last year....finally they told me to take it to Tom's Body and Paint. I did and they took many pictures and the person told me that this is definitely from a bad paint job. You can see the bubbling and everything. Now....over a year later, still nothing.
