A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says He Lost $70,000 in Business Deals Because He Drives a Cybertruck. Adds, “I’m in a Dilemma; I’m Losing a Lot of Customers, but I Love My Cybertruck”

A Cybertruck owner says his roofing business is losing a lot of customers because of the Cybertruck. He adds that he lost $70,000 worth of deals because of the vehicle. However, he says he still loves the truck and doesn’t want to sell it.

Yoni Menaker is the owner of Blue Angel Roofing in Atlanta and says he’s losing a lot of customers because he drives a Cybertruck.

Yoni shares that his company’s page is flooded with negative reviews and adds that he lost $70,000 worth of roofing deals only last month.

Yoni says the customers who terminated the roofing contract specifically told him that the issue was that he drove a Cybertruck.

Clearly, Yoni doesn’t want his company to suffer, but he says he’s in a dilemma because he also loves his Cybertruck and doesn’t want to let it go.

The conflicted Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

Here is what he wrote…

“I have a dilemma. I have started to lose customers because I drive a Cybertruck. I have also received some bad reviews in the past, and I am not sure what to do. I love this truck, and it's the best truck I have ever had.

But last month, we lost around $70k in deals, and the customers said that it was because we drove a Cybertruck.

Any suggestions?

I’m in Atlanta.”

Below his post, Yoni shared a screenshot of a review left on his company’s page.

It says Blue Angel Roofing, and the reviewer goes on to write…

“I’m just going to say, if a roofing company has a Cybertruck, maybe reconsider using them as your roofer.”

The reviewer also added a picture of Yoni’s Cybertruck showing the Blue Angels Roofing logo plastered over it.

This suggests that Yoni is driving his Cybertruck not only for personal use but also as a work truck, taking it to roofing job sites.

It appears that some people were so unhappy with the roofing company's use of a Cybertruck that they decided to go with another company.

This is a surprising turn of events. When Cybertruck started deliveries back in November 2023, businesses were excited to plaster their logos all over it.

There are some businesses that even bought multiple Cybertrucks specifically as an advertisement opportunity.

However, fast-forward a little more than a year, and the Cybertruck has become a very divisive vehicle.

Some Cybertruck owners, such as Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, bought a Cybertruck as an advertisement billboard.

Now, Zack says he’ll be selling not only his Cybertruck but all his Tesla products before the end of the year.

Elon Musk loyalists will argue until they’re blue in the face that Musk is not harming Tesla’s brand; however, based on the experiences of Tesla and Cybertruck owners in the real world, that argument is becoming increasingly difficult to make.

In the past few days, we’ve covered the story of a Cybertruck owner who says he was punched in the face simply for driving a Cybertruck.

After this incident, the Cybertruck owner says he’ll leave a $1 bill on every Cybertruck he sees to “spread the love.”

Another retired Cybertruck owner also shared that a guy with a lifted Ford F-350 came at him with his fists balled and ready to fight simply because of his Cybertruck.

The owner of a golden Cybertruck also shared that he, his wife, and his children face constant hostility because they drive a Cybertruck. He adds that because of the harassment, his wife now refuses to drive the Cybertruck altogether.

Overall, it’s interesting to see all the challenges Cybertruck owners are facing in the real world. Please let me know what you think in the comments.

Ah, this is where Karl Popper’s Paradox of Tolerance comes in. “As paradoxical as it may seem, defending tolerance requires to not tolerate the intolerant.”

Basically, if you tolerate the intolerant, they take over. And then eliminate tolerance.

Besides, if the roofing guy describes the cybertruck as the best truck he’s ever owned, I doubt he’s ever done anything requiring a truly good truck.

Funny how you just assumed leftist. I've seen how angry Ford pickup drivers get at Chevy pickup drivers, to the point of fist fights, and it very well could have been some alt-right 'merica MAGA patriot asserting his anger against the existence of EVs, especially pretentious golden cyber trucks (which lots of folks hated long before Musk proved to the world he's a Nazi). The amount of I hate I've seen in my very red voting area against ANY EV is fascinating. We win them over one conversion at a time, slow as it takes.

But thank you for weighing in with your own biases and prejudices. Just a suggestion, but DEI training can really help with those.

What does this have to do with the left? I'm not particularly political, and even I know that Elon Musk is a trash human and the cybertruck is the weapon of choice for douchebags. It doesn't function as a truck. All these people justifying its price by saying high-end dually trucks with all the bells and whistles also cost 100k forget that the cybertruck literally gets stuck in 1/2" of snow and needs new tires after 10k miles because it's so heavy. Literally the dumbest vehicle ever made. I wouldn't let someone dumb enough to buy and drive one work on my house.

Do you think the guy with the Ford 350 with the bunched up fists is part of the "left". Try harder, that's a clueless response. The right answer is that there are consequences of being an arrogant ass, and Elon Musk is now leaning them. We dumped both Teslas when Elon went bat-brain-crazy. Glad we were 2 years ahead of the trend, we got our money back. Sales of Telsas are crashing in Europe, the used Tesla market is WAY down. Yup, there are consequences for Elon. Makes me feel sorry for his stockholders.

And then there's the oh-so-tolerant right, harassing a bartender in Florida:

Michael Nixon, 42, had been arrested on several charges including battery with prejudice, defrauding an innkeeper and disorderly conduct at an establishment after the Jan. 19 incident at Norman's Tavern on Collins Avenue.

According to a Miami-Dade State Attorney's memo obtained by NBC6 on Tuesday, the charges against Nixon were dropped after the victim and the tavern said they didn't want to go forward with the charges.

According to an arrest report, the bar's manager told police Nixon was insulting a bartender and yelling profanities at her.

The report said the manager approached Nixon and told him to pay his bill and leave, to which Nixon responded "I won't pay any [expletive]."

Imagine harassing someone because they're not white. Lunatics.

It's not surprising the guy is losing work. It's an indication of poor judgement on his part to have that thing. I wouldn't hire anyone tradesman showing up in one of those.

Poor judgement for political reasons that he isn't emotionally fragile or poor judgement because of the vehicle on its own merits? Because you could power a whole jobsite with one of those things aaaaaaand it says he's in Atlanta where bullets fly on the daily in that liberal run Utopia seems incredibly good judgement to drive a bullet proof vehicle

Joyce Wheeler (not verified)    February 15, 2025 - 11:10AM

I'm not going to be punching anyone over their choice of vehicle. However, Tesla and Cyber trucks now represent a person who is reprehensible, elitist, and unable to understand the consequences of his actions on those of us who feel disenfranchised from the America that we love. His bromance with the orange man is disgusting. I will never support EM as he slashes and burns without any regard to the people who are suffering in this world. What makes America great is not its wealth, but how it shares wealth with those who have no resources, no champion, no hope and no future.

Well said- the "tolerant left" doesn't need to tolerate a manchild destroying our government while he Nazi salutes on stage behind the presidential seal. His money lets him buy Vice President Trump, so we need to hurt his money.

Some people just need to give it a rest. As far as the esthetics for me, they aren't easy on the eyes but I'm not going to condemn anyone for personal preferences. I'm not a jerk, I'm just and old redneck keeping it real. RANT OVER.

The audacity of some people really surprise me,

It doesn't matter what he drives,

The quality of his work is what matters most,

I also would not buy a tesla product because of their unreliability, to many problems with Electric vehicles,

I believe that a hybrid vehicle is a better choice, "Edison motors" whereas you have a small engine that recharges the batteries, it is more efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly.
Please live life respectfully and respectfully

I don't want to work with people who drive very flashy, obnoxious vehicles if I have an option. We have a contractor in my town with a giant semi-cab converted to a pickup. NFW

Wow, these comments are hilarious. How many jacked up over glorified ICE trucks cost similar amounts? Humans have traded reading and research for memes.

1. Everyone knows that Cybertrucks are expensive so the customers knows that this guy is making a lot of profits.
2. Everyone knows that the Cybertrucks are useless as a work vehicle. Almost no bed capacity and if you tow a trailer, the battery goes down really fast.
So regardless of Elon Musk, this roofer is demonstrating to his customers that he makes a lot of profits and he makes bad business decisions.

Elbeau (not verified)    February 15, 2025 - 2:25PM

While I don't condone this sort of conduct, maybe it's giving a taste of what it's like to be an LGBT+ or someone of non-European descent to SOME Elon fans.
But I saw a bumper sticker that might help: "I bought this before Musk went crazy."

JB (not verified)    February 15, 2025 - 2:30PM

This is not about Telsa and Elon Musk. To spin it that way is ridiculous and whats wrong with part of this country’s way of thinking. The problem is when. A roofer shows up in a 150k truck to get roofing business is a little out of sorts. Why don't you just show up in a Bentley or Ferrari? Might serve you better? I think not.

Tesla has become the brand of an Uber Bully who has antisocial and anti democratic values. He and Trump are evil motivated destructive achievers. Musk borrows money and does deals with the US government as a corrupt business. Tesla and Starlink and X and SpaceX need to be cut off from US government welfare assistance, and Trump and Bondi impeached for letting Musk in the door. Cybertrucks are a brand in and of themselves of the excesses of human greed.
